Els catarres, Manel and Els amics de les arts.

In this post I'm going to talk about those three groups.

Els Catarres are a Catalan pop-folk band. The members of Els Catarres are Éric Vergés and Jan Riera Prats from Aiguafreda(Barcelona) and Roser Cruells from Centelles(Barcelona). The band is famous for the song Jenifer who came a hit in the summer of 2011. They oly have two CD's. For me the first one isn't good at all but I love every second of all the songs in the last one called Postals. I would say that my favourite song is Invencibles. 

Manel are an  indie pop band from Barcelona who sing in Catalan. They released their first album in 2008. They describe their musical style as a synthesis of pop and folk music. The members of the band are Arnau Vallvé, Martí Maymó, Roger Padilla and Guillem Gisbert, the lead singer. They are not really famous in Spain, only in this zone but in other countries like Germany they're really famous even more than here. My favpurite songs are Al mar!, Boomerang and Aniversari. 

Els amics de les arts are a Catalan pop-folk band. The members of this group are  Eduard Costa Garangou,Joan Enric Barceló,Ferran Piqué Fargas and Dani Alegret Ruiz. Their first CD was out in 2008. Some weeks ago their new cd Només d'Entrar hi ha Sempre el Dinosaure was out. Some of my favourite songs from this band are Jean-Luc, the most famous one and 4-3-3. 

       

Coldplay.

Coldplay are a British rock band formed in 1996 by lead vocalist Chris Martin and lead guitarist Jonny Bucklan. After they formed under the name Pectoralz, Guy Berryman joined the group as a bassist and they changed their name to Starfish. Will Champion joined as a drummer, backing vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist, completing the group. Manager Phil Harvey is often considered an unofficial fifth member. The band renamed themselves "Coldplay" in 1998.
I've always liked this group but some months ago I started listening to their songs more frequently. 
They've got lots of cd's but my favourite one is Mylo Xyloto. One good thing about this cd is that there's a live version that was recorded in Paris in 2012 and while you listen to it you feel like into the concert. 
My favourite song is Yellow. It's from the cd Parachutes that was recorded in 2000. For me it's one of the best songs I've ever listened. 
Another good new about Coldplay is that although all the years they still recording music and their new CD called Ghost stories was out yesterday. I don't know if I like it because I haven't had much time to listen to it but I'm sure it will be as good as the others.

Writing.

Nowadays, global warming is always in the news. Most people agree that it's a serious problem and that we should do something about it but others think that it's not a problem.

On the one hand it's really difficult to stop global warming because individuals can't make a difference. Some pessimistic people also say that it's too late and that we need to learn to live with climate change. 

On the other hand people say that it's not too late, there are lots of things that we can do like using cars less or insulating our homes. 

So in my opinion it's not too late and there are lots of things that  we can do to stop global warming.

Dialogue.

A: What are your plans for Saturday evening?
B: I haven't got any, really. Why?
A: Well, we are going to the cinema. Do you want to come along?
B: Yes, I'd love to. Which film are you going to watch?
A: We're going to watch the new Quim Gutiérrez film.
B: That sounds great, I love this guy!
A: Then, we'll go to have dinner in a restaurant next to the cinema.
B: Great. What time shall we meet?
A: At seven o'clock at my house.
B: Ok. See you on Saturday.
